A utility company is has contacted me for a debt from back in 05. 7 years ago I may not have even lived at the home during that time frame. If the collection agency cannot find the original bill am I still liable?

Normally the statute of limitations would make it difficult or impossible to collect such an old debt, but according to our resources, Ohio has a very long statute of limitations. So it may be possible that they could collect from you after all these years. We'll have to suggest you contact your state public utility commission and/or a consumer law attorney.
