I have an old debt that now held my entire checking account. They sent notice of court last year to a place I have not lived at for 3 years. They took everything out of my account and now my livelihood is threatened. I live in CO and was wondering can they take everything that is in my account?

It is not uncommon for collectors to sue debtors, and when they don't appear in court, to get default judgments against them. Judgments often allow collectors to go after assets such as bank accounts (which are not hard for them to find.)
If you were not properly served notice of the lawsuit, however, you may have some recourse. You're going to need to talk with a consumer law attorney to find out what you can do at this point.
