If I understand you correctly, you know you owe money to a creditor and you have the account number for the debt, but you don't know the name of the creditor and don't have an address for the creditor. Have you looked through your files for any paperwork or receipts with that account number? Have you gone through your credit cards to determine if the account on one of them matches up with the account number? Other than those suggestions, I don't have any other advice and there is no central database of account numbers that you might access in order to get the information you are lacking. It sounds like you may have to wait until the creditor to whom you owe the money or a debt collector contacts you about the money you owe.
