I am looking to find out what debts I have in collections?

We don't have a super simple answer for you but we do have suggestions.
There's no central registry (yet) that lists all debt collection accounts, though there are a couple of organizations working on that.
The best advice we can give you right now is to check our credit reports with all three major agencies at AnnualCreditReport.com. Note: it may not pick up everything (there may be some debts in limbo) but it should help.
You could also try contacting your creditors for any debts that were charged off, and see if they can help you track down the debt. Usually they can tell you which collection agency they placed the debt with. If the debt was sold to another collector then it could be hard to track down.
Remember to always check the statute of limitationsbefore you discuss the debt with a collection agency. It may affect how you decide to proceed.
