Hospital Bill Collection Out of Statute of Limitations?

by TJ

I received a collection letter from a hospital bill from 2/7/12. If I understand my SOL, this debt is too old for collections. What are my choices?

Can you please clarify that date for us? If the debt only dates back to February 7, 2012 then it certainly not outside the statute of limitations under any state law that we're aware of. In most states the statute of limitations is between four and six years after the last payment was made on a debt.
