(Valentine, NE, USA)
Can they garnish my husband's wages even if my debt was from before we were married?

Nebraska is not a community property state. We aren't aware of a situation where your wages could be garnished for his individual debt. It is possible that if your paycheck is deposited into a joint account. However, we want to caution you are we are not attorneys and given that it's gone this far it would be a really good idea for the two of you to at least talk with a bankruptcy attorney to find out what your rights and options are, and what is at risk if you can't pay this debt. You can get a a free initial evaluation with a bankruptcy attorney here.
