There is no time limit on how long you are obligated to pay a debt that you owe. If it is your debt, you are legally responsible for it and the creditor or a debt collector can try to collect the money that you owe indefinitely. However, and I assume this is what you are referring to, there is a time limit on how long you can be sued for a debt. That time limit is referred to as the statute of limitations (SOL). My sources indicate that the SOL in Oklahoma for credit card debt is 3 years. That 3-year period begins on the date of your last payment on the card.
