complaining to the BBB about collectors is useless

If the BBB received so many complaints, what are they going to do about this collection agency? Why bother to complain at all if nothing will be done? They just collect data..BBB.. So I dont think complaining to the BBB is helpful at all.
Also, did you know that the BBB is just as corrupt They accept money to right positive information in regard to a companies business.. AGAIN, why the *** do you complain when nothing is being done? Attorney general should shut them down.. period.

Lisa - You are right that there are some legitimate concerns about the Better Business Bureau and whether it is objective. However, we still feel it's a good idea to share any complaint you have about a collection agency with them so there is a record of your complaint.
But we also suggest you file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC.gov), Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (consumerfinance.gov) and your state attorney general. Those agencies can often step in and take action if there is a pattern of complaints against a company - whereas the BBB doesn't have that ability.
None of these agencies will help you with your individual complaint though. So that's why it's a good idea to get a free consult with a consumer law attorney who may be able to help you at no cost fight back if a collector is breaking the law.
