A family member resided with me. During that time she was receiving calls from collectors who had obtained my phone number. The person has since moved and the calls keep coming. What can I do?
I live in New York State.

At this point, they are calling a wrong number for the debtor and you need to let them know that, and instruct them not to call you again. If they call again, you can consult a consumer law attorney. You'll find more information about this on our page about
debt collection for the wrong person.
