Can I get bad credit from subscribing a magazine?

I got a free first issue from cosmo but then I didn't want anymore but I forgot about it then they kept sending me a bill to pay, but then I just thought that I didn't want anymore so I don't need to pay, and they never send me an other issues also, but then recently they send a letter saying They were gonna send me to collection because I'm no paying.

But why would I pay if they never send me the products, and how can they send me to collection without my SSN anyways? Can they do that to me? Thanks

Nancy - one of us has had the same experience with another magazine. We are wondering if they are part of the same publishing group. It doesn't look like you included your email when you submitted your question. Will you contact us through the partner form on this site? We'd like to look into this.

Yes the magazine is from cosmopolitan, I've heard some people were sent to collection but some people say that the magazine company just says that o scared you so you'll pay. But I think they are lying cause they dont have my SSN or anything but name and address only.

SSN not really necessary

Sorry, but they don't need to have your SSN to charge you for the magazine, and they don't need it to send you to collections. What they do need to prove is that you agreed to subscribe to the magazine and pay for it.

I would consult with an attorney to see what your options are.
