My daughter a 20 yr. old college student, has a $1500.00 medical debt. She had insurance through the school, they didn't pay this portion of the bill. I just received a summons for this amount. Can they legally come after me?

You'll need legal advice on that question. Normally you would not be responsible for your adult child's medical bills, but you may have signed something when you enrolled her in school, or perhaps there is some liability for her as your dependent. (Often parents are responsible for minor children's necessary medical bills, but we don't know if that's the case here since he's no longer a minor.)
We suggest you contact a consumer law attorney. Your other alternative would be to see if they will settle it for less than the full balance. If they do, make sure you get the settlement agreement in writing.
