Wife owns home

I owe taxes from last year. Can the IRS place a levy on a home owned and titled in my wife's name only?

I don't think so, but I am not a tax attorney or a CPA so I strongly advise that you consult with one of them for a definitive answer. Don't rely on me.

What I would be more worried about if you owe taxes to the IRS however is having your wages garnished or the money in your bank account seized. Both are common actions taken by the IRS to collect unpaid taxes.

They can come after your home if you live in a community property state like Texas.

Community property state, yes they can ....if you live in a community property state, they can. Not only lien and levy the home in your wife's name, they can attach bank accounts and her own wages.
