Where is my debt?

I have a debt in collections, but I don't know how to find it. Where do I find these? The collection agency has only called once or twice and I don't have the number any longer.

finding old debts

This is a good question. We would recommend you get your credit reports from AnnualCreditReport.com. Your debts may be listed they are. If they are not, they may be in limbo. The collection agency that contacted you before may have given up on them, and they may be in the process of being sold to another collection agency - it's hard to tell.

If you can't find the debts, be assured that collection agency will probably contact you at some point provided they can find your current address. Make sure your address is listed correctly on all of your credit reports.

And of course, make sure you know the statue of limitations for these debts as well.
