Two different amounts on judgment - Which one do I pay?

(San Diego, California)

Refinancing home - Title company identifies a judgment amount that must be satisfied. Contacted collections company and they indicate a higher amount is due. Which one due I pay to satisfy the judgment? And, can the collections company attempt to collect the difference of the higher amount? In California

Reply from DebtCollectionAnswers.com:

The collection agency may be adding interest to the judgment, which is allowed in many states. However that doesn't mean the amount the collection agency is trying to collect is correct. If you aren't sure you'll need to talk with a consumer law attorney to find out whether the amounts they are trying to charge is legal.
