Tutor Trying to Collect Unpaid Fee

by sherri
(ny)

My husband hired a tutor for our daughter and they claim he still owes money, they filed a lien against me and are attempting to go after my paycheck for $269.00. I was not aware from 2 years ago this was a problem. Can they go after my paycheck?

If the tutor sued you and your husband for the money you owe to him/her and won the lawsuit, then the tutor is entitled to try to collect on the court judgment. One way to do that is to go after your wages or your spouse's. Another way is to go after your assets.
