For example, I know that it is possible to give the company that is holding your vehicle title to your car so they can sell it and wipe out your debt. Of course, if you need your car, this would probably not be an option you would want to pursue. If you want to get your car back, perhaps you can work out a payment plan with the collector. Bottom line however, I think you ought to contact a consumer law attorney to discuss your rights and options. If you do not have any money to pay an attorney, perhaps a Legal Aid office in your area can help you.
