Threatened with jail from secured creditor

by Vance
(california)

I have a judgement against me. The creditor is an individual. He sent me an email threatening that if I did not meet with him, he would send a Sheriff to have me put in jail. Is this legal?

Threatened with jail from secured creditor

The creditor has no power to send you to jail for not paying the judgment. You cannot be put in jail for not paying a debt.

If the creditor continues with his threats, I recommend that you schedule free consultation with a consumer law attorney.
