Third party debt collections in Georgia

by Michael
(Lawrenceville, Ga )

What is the statute of limitations in Georgia for third party collections of credit card debt?

Reply from DebtCollectionAnswers.com:

Our understanding is that the statute of limitations for most consumer debts in Georgia is 4-6 years, depending on the type of debt. If a debt collector is trying to collect an old debt, you can send them a cease contact letter instructing them you know the debt is too old and to leave you alone.
