SOL on Credit Card debt in the state of Missouri

How does the state of Missouri view a Credit Card account. Is it a open-ended account or is it a written contract? I have two accounts that are 8 1/2 yrs old and in Charge Off status.

Thank you.

Missouri statute of limitations
by: Gerri & Mary

Simply reading the Missouri Revised statutes, it would appear that credit card contracts would fall under a ten year statute of limitations:

What action shall be commenced within ten years.

516.110. Within ten years:

(1) An action upon any writing, whether sealed or unsealed, for the payment of money or property;

However, we are NOT attorneys and cannot give you legal advice. We would recommend you consult with an attorney in your state to clarify the situation with your debts. You can talk with a bankruptcy attorney bankruptcy attorney, who should be familiar with the laws in your state, or a consumer law attorney with expertise in debt collection cases. Find out how to get FREE or low cost legal advice about debt collection from a consumer law attorney here.

We hope this helps, and that you are able to find a way to put this behind you.
