Are they for real?
by: J. R.

I don't see any address from Minnesota in this listing? Do you have one? These people say that they can incorporate my wife's income into how much I have to pay monthly, and Federal law says they can do it! If this is my student loan and I was not married to my current wife, how can that be possible?

Reply from

We are not sure what you mean by incorporating your income - are they garnishing wages? If these are federal loans, she'll want to try to get out of default and see if she can get into Income-based Repayment.

strange link

I have been receiving calls concerning a debt incurred by a non-relative.
I have 4 times gone over the littany of connection with this young man - which seems to have little impact on the agency.

Debtor - was step-son of husband I divorced 25+ years ago

Ex-husband has been divorced from debtor's mother for over 5 years

I have not seen debtor since he was in elementary school and he is now nearing 40 years old!

I am not sure how the agency linked him to me.

If you ask them to stop contacting you and the calls continue either file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau or contact a consumer law attorney.

Vague and with-holding
by: Anonymous

This company has called me several times and when I call back to ask them some questions the "young" man continued to cut me off to take control of the phone call. I asked him what company he was representing, he talked so fast it seemed to me he didn't want me to be able to fully understand what he was saying. Then when I asked him what does your company do there he studdered and then said oh, well we handle personal matters. I'm sorry but if you can't be honest with why you're calling my phone you aren't getting very far with me buddy!!! Just say we are a debt collector and maybe I will listen to you and try to work with you to resolve any matters. But if you can't tell me anything you'll get the same in return!!!

harassing calls
by: Fred

many years now I get 3 to 5 calls from 7:45am to 9:45pm from 877-488-3619. at least they don't stay on line long enough for recorder to do anything but come on and announce" leave your message" and they click off. I figure since Elvis is out of the building it's him calling.
Still it is annoying and harassing.

A bill I never received for 65.00 supposedly I made in April was sent to allied in July. I received a letter demanding 151.00 July 28,2014 I explained to them that I have no idea what this bill is for. They told me it was for a 65.00 purchase and would not listen to anything I had to say. They constantly call and keep adding on more fees. I made a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission.

This company called all my family members looking for my poor husband for an unpaid parking ticket.
This is crazy and unacceptable.

Wont Stop calling
by: Anonymous

Allied keeps calling me on my work number, even after I have sent verification of filing a chapter 7 last year which included the debt they are calling about, I have told them a minimum of 6 times to stop calling, and have been reprimanded at work for receiving these calls. What can you do to stop this from happening?

Reply from

If a collection agency continues to call you at work after you have told them to stop, you should contact a consumer law attorney or file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. You can get a free consultation with a consumer law attorney by calling 888-747-6242.

Are they real or scammers
by: Kay

So is this a legit company? I did receive two call from them this morning. I called back and all i was given was they company name. I would not give them my name unless they told me whay type of company they were. All i wanted to know was were they debt collection, were they insurance sales, were they a law office etc, a marketer etc etc. I didnt want know they personal business of the personal they were try to reach or why they wanted this person... I just waned to know what Allied Interstate was? They refused. I went to manager and still refused. I dont have any debts that I am aware of but even if i did, I would still want to know what kinda of company was trying to reach me. If they real and this is something i wam not aware of and it is me that they wanted I want to take care of it... however, I have had Identity theft and I dont validate anything without know who they are. my request did not violate any HIPPA or confidentiality laws to just know they type of business they were. I have always been told if they wont say who they are they they are probably scammers. i dont know what to think.

keep calling; wrong number
by: Anonymous

I've told them they're calling the wrong number. The person they're asking for is not me. I've had this number since 1987. DUH! Join the 21st century and change your data base.

They'll be talking to the answering machine from now on because I saved their number as JUNK. When see that, I won't answer.

rude comments
by: Anonymous

The rep from Allied calling me is so rude he has made me cry several times; making very judgmental comments and making me feel like a low life citizen for my inability to pay the amount THEY are demanding. I offered a lower amount as that is what I can afford, but that was "not going to cut it" according to them. The supervisor even told me that since my debt was so delinquent, its a "no holds bar" scenario.
