Settlement apartment fees

I'm breaking out my flat leasing and my landlord here in Austin is asking me 2 months rental fee when leaving. What happens if i leave without paying this fee? I'm leaving the usa when moving out.

Regards.

Reply from DebtCollectionAnswers.com:

After trying to collect, the balance will likely be turned over to collections. If you don't pay, you may be sued. But if you are outside the country they may not be able to do anything to collect. If you return to the US, however, this debt may still be out there and could cause problems in the future.

We encourage you to try to work something out with your landlord so you can resolve this and won't have it hanging over your head.
