Unfortunately, it happens all the time. We've heard frequent complaints from consumers who are being contacted by collection agency over a bill they do not believe is legitimate.

I hope you will at least read the first chapter of Debt Collection Answers online for free so you have an overview of your rights in dealing with this collection agency. The e-book itself will go into more details on your options.
