Sears Citibank

by pamela

My mother is in a nursing home and the cc company keeps calling our office which is a doctors ofc. asking for her. We keep telling them this is an ofc and not to call and they have left messages with their phone number on our machine after hours.

I have called them and told them to remove the number but they keep calling and our ofc. mgr. and my husband who is the dr. who keeps telling them to stop calling also and to remove the number and that she does not live here and that she is in a nursing home. i just called them again this morning to tell them to stop and was once again told they would put this number as a bad number. i am betting it won't stop and they will keep on calling. this is getting out of control.

Original creditors are not covered by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If you live in California, though, there is a law called the Rosenthal Act that applies to creditors.

At a minimum, be sure to report this to the Federal Trade Commission.
