Responsible for an Old Debt?
by: Debtcollectionanswers.com

Yes, he is responsible for paying the debt and the creditor (or debt collectors) are entitled to contact him about the money he owes. However, my resources show that the statute of limitations -- the period of time during which he can be sued for the money -- is just 4 years for all types of debt in PA. Therefore, your husband no longer needs to worry about being sued for the money he owes unless he does something to reactivate the statute of limitations. Again however, his creditor as well as debt collectors still have the right to contact him and ask him to pay up.
