Question on unpaid loan 9 years ago

by Walter Isaacs
(Canada, Ontario)

A bank sold my unpaid loan debt to a collection agency. Could this agency sue me or could the bank sue me?. I am getting disability and am barely making out, I also live with a friend who takes care of my needs, could the agency seize my friends personal belonging?. I have nothing and I am divorced. This debt is 9 years old. Does the statute of limitation helps me?
