PAY OFF AMOUNT

I am unaware of any laws saying that medical debt cannot be settled. In fact, settlment is often used to resolve unpaid medical debt. The collection agency may be telling you that you cannot settle because it wants to try to collect as much of your bill as possible given that the more it collects, the more money it makes.

You can continue to try to pursue a settlement on your own, but you may not get very far. Or, you can contact Consumer Recovery Network, which is a reputable debt settlement firm, for advice and assistance. I expect that you will get better results by working with an experienced, professional settlement firm like CRN rather than trying to go it on your own.

Good luck!
