PAY A DEBT

by andy albe
(fort lee NJ)

Hi, listed on my credit report is Credit Management services:

17070 Dallas Pway
texas 75248

I twice wrote a letter to them and twice go it back, usps says such company does not exist at that address. no forwarding address.

I need to pay off the account to clear it.

How can I deal with this situbation? Can I clear it with the credit reporting bureaus?

PAY A DEBT

Andy:

First, I want to correct what I think may be a misimpression on your part. If a past due debt is reported to a credit reporting agency, the debt can remain in your credit file for up to 7 years and 6 months after the debt first became past due. Therefore, paying the debt is not going to get it off of your credit report, although a notation that the debt has been paid should be added by the creditor or debt collector that reported the past due debt.

As to how to contact Credit Management Services, I googled the company and found this information for it in Dallas:
8131 Lyndon B Johnson Fwy #745 Dallas, TX 75251-1331
(972) 301-4350. So you might try contacting the firm there.
