overdrawn checking account closed and bank kept my car title

A bank kept my car title after the loan was paid because my checking account had been closed due to overdrawn funds. Can they do this?

Reply from DebtCollectionAnswers.com:

If there was a cross collateralization clause that gave the bank a security interest other funds you had on deposit, then it may be possible that this could be legal. However, we're not attorneys and can't say for sure. We'd recommend you talk with a consumer law attorney.
