OMG RUDEST CS REPS EVER!!!!

by Sarah
(San Lorenzo, CA)

I have had to send 3 (count em'...3) cease and desist letters to this company. I received a call last week and let them know for the ump-teenth time that they have these letters on file and stop calling me. One person on a previous occasion called 2 months after receiving the 2dn letter saying that they didn't have any on file...funny that they must have found it because they quit calling...until last week. Best part is I have a call on my cell phone dated 7/12 (today) at 3:44 pm and a Voice message saying to call Mr. Jefferson (last week it was Nicole). I called back and this ghetto lady named Angela answered the phone. She rudely stated they hadn't called since May. I told her I had a call on my phone and could give her the time it came in and with whom I should speak. Then she says " well that must be a new account" so I told her "yes and there is a cease and desist order on that account as well". That turned into her yelling at me that they "DID NOT CONTACT ME". I asked for a supervisor..she placed me on hold only to come right back and scream at me the "manager had just went into a meeting" she was so rude that before she could finish I said she needed to check her attitude and called her a "f-ing B". That is so unacceptable to scream and belittle the person with whom you are trying to collect money from.

Reply from DebtCollectionAnswers.com: If a debt collector calls you after you have sent them a cease contact letter, they may be breaking the law. California also has a consumer protection law called the Rosenthal Act that is very strong.

You may want to go ahead and contact a consumer law attorney about this problem. If the collection agency is breaking the law you may be entitled to damages and they may have to pay your attorney's fees.
