NCO: Stop the phone calls to this private phone number and address!

We do not owe any business nor any person any past due debt. Period!

You people at NCO are rude. They call here and leave messages for someone who no longer lives here. Then when someone who does live here contacts NCO with the call back number and made an attempt to inform NCO how to contact the person it named on the phone message the NCO representative got rude and refused to listen. I doubt if it is a legimate debt NCO is attempting to collect.

For 2 months someone from NCO called the phone number here to leave a message for someone else. When I called NCO a representative changed the who the phone calls from NCO were for to who the phone number is registered in. When NCO was confronted with the name of the person that the left messages were for the representative got rude and would not listen but kept attempting to talk over me when I was trying to tell the NCO representative how to get in contact with the person they named on the phone recorder here.

Finally, I abruptly told the NCO representative that they (NCO) are rude and never to call here again.

too many calls
by: Anonymous

For months, we have been receiving debt collection calls. We do not owe anyone that is not paid off each month. The calls may be at any time during the day or evening and I am getting very annoyed.
The calls are robo calls so I cannot even ask whom they are calling. We probably get three to four calls a week. It has become more than annoying.

Bizarre NCO Tactics
by: Anonymous

NCO has been calling one of our district offices threatening the receptionist if she did not transfer his call to one of our ex employees who passed away 3 months ago. NCO is no doubt off the wall. I personally spoke to them and was called a liar. These people are rude. The ex employee hung himself and as best we can tell from speaking to his spouse, owed $877.00. The harassing calls may not be the direct cause of his suicide but after speaking with them I have no doubt it contributed. The person I spoke to at NCO was almost proud of the what they accomplished. Yet they continue to call. Their tactics are illegal and warrant legal action. I am a compassionate person and feel for the spouse. I have contacted the legal division of our company but they said not to worry that they will eventually stop calling. I there anything else I should do?

You can file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and your state attorney general's office.

Cannot Reach This Company By Phone
by: William F

I have noticed that the same amount has been taken from my bank account. They are listed as "Recurring Charges". I do seem to remember getting a call from NCO Financial and I may have even given them permission to deduct from my bank account. But I have tried to contact them via the number that appears on my account and all I get is a voicemail that says the call is being answered by "Customer Audit" and that the voicemail is full.

I don't believe this would be the practice of a legitimate company. It might be possible that I have been scammed by someone who presented themselves as NCO.

My bank has stopped payment for me and their fraud department is investigating this matter.
The phone number that appears on my bank account is: 877-282-1250 in PA.

I would suggest this same action to any others who have experienced money being taken from their account as NCO, as it seems to be the most effective manner to deal with the issue.

NCO Financial Robo Calls
by: Anonymous

NCO Financial robo calls M-F. I have no idea what debt, if any they are calling about and I refuse to call an 800 number. If this is a legitimate debt, they should MAIL me the information so that I can confirm it and make the arrangements to clear the obligation.

NCO Financial if you are reading this post.....MAIL the debt information to your "customer". In this day and age, people are very cautious of telephone calls requesting payment.

phone calls

I receive numerous calls from NCO and when I answer, I get a message "this is an important message from NCO" and they leave a phone number. When I call the number, I am put on hold. I have no time to be put on hold. If it is that important, let them mail a letter. I have no clue who the calls are for or the amount of debt and when I call to find out, I'm put on hold. The one thing I am sure of is the calls are not for me.

You may want to talk with a consumer law attorney. These robo calls may be illegal. You can call the debt collection hotline: 888-747-6242.

I have been getting calls purporting to be from NCO. There has been no name mentioned, no reference to any debt or even what country they are calling from or to. All I get is some shouted numbers. Yes I do have a condition which may be MS.

call at all times/no one by that name lives here
by: Anonymous-St.Louis MO

The last call from NCO financial was at 0801 this morning. I told them I do not owe anyone anything and this woman says who are you? I said you should know - YOU called ME again and again and again! Aren't you .//////. NO I'm not and you are now being reported to the Atty General. This has been going on for months. I guess I got a number from someone who may have owed something - I really don't know. I refuse to answer any more calls. Now they leave messages to(no name given) to call back. BALONEY! They need to be put out of business. This woman also stated "well, I don't know who you are we put out thousands and thousands of ROBOCALLS everyday!!!!!"

You may want to read our page about debt collection for the wrong person then be sure to complain to the and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau which are both investigating robocalls.

Uhm, excuse me......
by: Sil

You DO realize that this site you posted your email to HELPS people who are being harassed by firms like NCO, right? What you need to do the next time these idiots call you, tell them that you will report them. Simply say:

The Under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, I am exercising my right to request that you cease all contact with me about debt owed to you by ____. That person does not live at this address and cannot be reached at this phone number. If you do not stop, I will be forced to seek legal action and file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission Bureau of Consumer Protection.

That usually will stop them. You might also want to tell them that your answering machine is on and have recorded the conversation. Then HANG UP.

If it hadn't been for this site, I might STILL be getting calls for a debt I never owed. This Debt Collection Answers site is the bomb!!

Good Luck!

Wow - thanks for the compliment! We do try to help as much as we can. It's nice to hear positive feedback.

Just remember - in many states you must tell the debt collector you are going to record the conversation upfront. So you'll want to say that at the outset.
