Mtg co calls asking for payment prior to payment being late

by Sherry
(Phoenix, AZ)

Like most people my mortgage is due on the 1st of the month but isn't late until the 16th. I have never been late on a payment yet every month they call me to "collect the debt" and "bring the account current". It is getting old when you are doing the right thing to get debt collection calls. What, if anything, can I do to stop these calls every month?

Reply from DebtCollectionAnswers.com: If you are making your payments after the first of the month you may be stuck with the phone calls. If your payment is due on the first, then you are technically late after the first.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to check your credit reports, though, to make sure that they don't list you as late. (They shouldn't if your payments aren't thirty days late.) And you may want to call them to make sure you aren't incorrectly listed as late in their records.
