Mother passed away who pays medical bills

My mom was under my insurance as a dependent. My insurance was covering 90% of her bills. So a 10% remains unpaid and she was planning to pay, but she passed away.

First question: Am I, her son, legally liable for these bills because I have her under my insurance ?


Second question: We are working on a malpractice case againt the hospital for significant negligence, does this affect the answer of question #1 ?

So sorry for the death of your mother. If you are pursuing a malpractice lawsuit, it's best if you direct your questions to the attorney who is handling the case for you. You should know however that unless you signed paperwork agreeing to be liable for your mother's medical bills, you are not personally responsible for any that do not get paid.
