All moms money was in a bank account with cefcu. I opened an executor account per lawyer advise as lawyer said we had to go thru probate. This is a small estate a house a car thats it. She had 4000 in bank my grandma gave mom just before she passed. Now we are in lim bo. My mom did have insurance on the car loan which payed off. I do have car title. My mom also had life insurance policys., around 20,000 but my lawyer hasnt contacted them to even notify of her passing. This has been over 2 months ago. Is this right? Why arent we getting any of the life insurance. We are named beneficiaries.

There is nothing preventing you from contacting the insurance companies yourself. In fact, if you are the executor of your mother's estate, that is something you should do, not the attorney.
