Medical debt of an 18 year old

Nebraska considers a person to be a legal adult at the age of 19. Generally speaking therefore, you are legally obligated to pay your 18 year old's medical bills. However, in some states, a minor can be held responsible for his or her medical bills depending on the nature of the medical treatment the minor received. I do not know if this is the case in your state. If you want to find out, contact a consumer law attorney in your area.
