judgement on first mortgage in florida

by Cyndi
(Port Charlotte FL)

I paid off my 2nd mortgage while in forclosure, can the first one still come after mefor a judgement if we go to the end of the forclosure process? These are Florida properties. Thank you.

Cyndi,

Florida is a recourse state, so it is possible the lender could try to pursue you for a deficiency. It would be a good idea for you to talk with a consumer law attorney or bankruptcy attorney to find out how to minimize the damage.
