is long term injury judgement proof

by glenn
(port.,oregon)

I know from your site that SSI for injury is judgement proof but is long term injury payment from my job not workman's comp? And also as part of my long term injury after one year a company paid life ins. as to start paying off per month for next three years to me. Are these two things also judgement proof?

Reply from DebtCollectionAnswers.com:

Glenn,

The best way for you to find out whether you are judgment proof is to talk with a
bankruptcy attorney who can look at your situation. The reason we say that is different states have different property exemptions. The attorney can review all the income and property you have coming in and tell you if it is safe.

Even if we were to publish a list of property exemptions by state we would tell you to talk with an attorney to make sure you have correct and complete information. We hope this helps!
