Interest on Judgment

by john
(fort collins, colorado)

I was garnished and paid interest that was attached to the garnishment. Then after I paid it off I got a letter from the attorneys who entered the judgement that I have accrued interest while my garnishment was being paid. In a sense it seems that they are collecting interest twice. Can they charge me interest while I'm being garnished and while the garnishment already has interest included in it?

Interest on Judgment

The judgment against you included all interest that had accrued on the debt that you were sued for. However, until you pay the full amount of the judgment, interest also accrues on the judgment. The rate of interest is set by the state where the judgment is entered.
