I have receieved several letters to collect a debt from:

National Credit Solutions, LLC
PO BOX 15779
Oklahoma City, OK 73155-0779
#800-384-0585
fax# 405-619-3631

They are sending bills to my address in Washington State. Is there a way to check if this Collection Co. is legal to collect a debt from me in the state of WA?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

According to the Washington State statutes:

No person shall act, assume to act, or advertise as a collection agency or out-of-state collection agency as defined in this chapter, except as authorized by this chapter, without first having applied for and obtained a license from the director.

Nothing contained in this section shall be construed to require a regular employee of a collection agency or out-of-state collection agency duly licensed under this chapter to procure a collection agency license.

1994 c 195 § 2; 1971 ex.s. c 253 § 2.

I remember
by: Anonymous

I remember this company. I dealt with them over six years ago to pay off a debt. (My ex told me he was making payments, and I didn't find out otherwise till I left him.) They were very polite, and sent out all information required. I was able to pay off the debt easily with them, and they negotiated for only a little above the original owed amount.

If they are as professional now as they were then, there are worse debt collections agencies you could be dealing with.
