Credit Card Already Paid Off, Still got a Summons

I signed a deal with the debt collectors I would make monthly payments of $100 a month till it was paid off. They sent me a letter in the mail and Copy to sign and send back to them and one for me to keep. I never missed a payment and I paid it off early. Now they have summoned me to court. Please help? Should I seek a attorney?
