I got a civil Summons and now a lein on my house

I got a civil summons back in August for an unpaid credit card balance, in the amount of $14000.00. I contacted the attorney/company handling this collection. We made an agreement. I paid $5000.00 up front and agreed to pay 234.00 each month until the account is paid in full. I got a letter in the mail, today that a lien has been placed
on my house. Can this be legal? What other surprises might I expect? I have already made 2 payments to the Attorney for the amount of $234.00 each.
Any info would help or suggestions
