We're not sure we fully understand your question, but we assume you are worried that because you applied for a job with the hospital to which you owe medical debt, they may hold that debt against you. We aren't aware of any reason why they can't take that into account (credit information is available to employers in most states). On the other hand, the HR and billing departments may operate completely separately and the issue may never come up. We have no way of knowing how this debt may impact your potential job with this hospital.

hospital debt

When I was taking my health unit coordinator class, the LPN teaching the students informed us that if we owed money to the hospital where we applied, we could still be hired, but the hospital would most likely ask for us to sign an agreement that allowed them to hold back a percentage of our pay until the debt was paid off.

If the hospital offers you this type of agreement, read the thing. Our state has a 'living wage' law for garnishment, but I don't know about others, and I don't know if it would apply in this case.
