Harassing Calls from Debt Collectors

by Robert
(Detroit, MI)

My name is Robert (last name removed), I keep on get these harassing phone calls every day. I requesting that these harassing calls stop. I can't afford the pay off my debts at this moment. Every time I get these calls, I ignore them. I'm in a financial crisis and I don't have an income now.
Please do not call me anymore.

Reply from DebtCollectionAnswers.com:

Robert, we need to clarify we are NOT NCO. We are a consumer education website.

If you want a debt collector to stop calling you, you must put your request in writing. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act gives you the right to ask a collector not to contact you again. However, by sending a cease communication letter, you may leave the collection agency with no option but to sue.

Please read our information on using a cease and desist letter to stop a debt collector before you decide to go this route.

We would also urge you to at least read the first chapter of Debt Collection Answers online for free so you have an understanding of your rights when dealing with this collection agency.

We hope things turn around for you soon.
