Excess Credit Reporting

by Ellen
(Kingsland, Ga)

How can I stop a creditor from continually reporting to my credit report? I have a company that from Oct 29, 2006 through May 5, 2011 reported to my credit report 20 times, during that same time they made 20 reports from Apr 8, 2009 through May 4, 2011 and additional 40 times from April 2, 2009 through March 30, 2011?

Reply from DebtCollectionAnswers: We would strongly encourage you to talk with a consumer law attorney with experience in Fair Credit Reporting Act and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act cases. It certainly sounds like there is something abnormal going on here. You can visit NACA.net to find a consumer law attorney in your area.

You may also want to read our page about how to dispute credit report errors.
