Energy Company put someone elses bill in my name

Hi, my problem is a Energy Company in Mich put someone else's bill in my name. Due to it not being paid, i sent info that I didn't live here with this person as I was in another state. They said my name was on the address some 7 yrs ago. Like I said this is not my bill nor do I intend to pay for it but they will not take it out of my name, let me know what to do at this point...I am a single father on SS... Thanks

It sounds like they are trying to hold you responsible for a bill at an address at which you previously lived. Is that correct? Assuming this company is a public utility we recommend you contact the Michigan Public Utility Commission
