Debt collection case if you are out of United States

by Tong Pong Wa
(Manila, Phillippines)

I am out of United States for last 5 years. I came to know that one of the Debt collector has filed legal case against me. I cannot travel to US just for the case. In fact, i believe this debt was sold by first debt collector to second debt collector(who filed) the case. What should I do since I am "judgement free" and do not plan to come back to United States?

It's unlikely there is anything they can or will do to try to collect from you even if they get a judgment. However, we aren't attorneys and we can't offer legal advice for your particular situation.
