Credit Card Debt Agreement

by Les
(Temecula CA USA)

I reached a verbal settlement figure of $1900 with the collector. When I confirmed the payment amounts and dates commencing with Sept 10 he wanted to change the amount owed together with the initial date to Aug 31 saying to trust him to modify the payment date personally on Aug 31. to Sept 10.
What recourse do I have?

settlement agreement

We do not recommend you send a collector a settlement payment until you have all of the details in writing, in hand, first. If you rely on a verbal agreement and problems to crop up later, you'll have no documentation to back up your side of the story.

We are not sure what you mean by having any recourse. Did you already pay them and now there is a problem?
