Credit Card Collecter Saying They Will Take A Car Im Paying To Another Comanpy And Impound It

by ron
(florida)

A credit card collector called and said if i didn't pay they would get a judgment and seize my vehicle and impound it until i paid debt in full. Is this possible since i owe this to another lender?

Reply from DebtCollectionAnswers.com: Ron, you need to talk with a consumer law attorney asap. The collector's threats may be illegal. Generally, a debt collection agency trying to collect unsecured debt can't seize property without first getting a judgment against you. Even then, your car may be protected from the judgment creditor.

Please contact a local consumer law attorney with experience in debt collection cases. Find out how to get FREE or low cost legal advice about debt collection from a consumer law attorney here.
