Can They Take Out My Check?

I got a call from a phone company that I owe to and I was wondering can they take the money out of my pay check or even my husbands paycheck? My husband's name is not on the bill.. They said something about my employment and that's why i was asking this question.. thank you..I only owe $120.00 from a few months ago I would say in Aug. of 2010. I live in Michigan.

Most of the time creditors cannot garnish your wages without taking you to court and getting a judgment first. We can't promise that can't happen here but we'd recommend you try to work out a payment arrangement so you can try to put this behind you.
