Can my car be taken to collect on a judgment?

Any property that is in someone else's name is the property of that individual. Therefore, the vehicle you are driving is your Mother's property and cannot be taken to collect on a debt that you owe. If she co-signed for the debt that you were sued over however, her assets would be at risk.
