Can Bank Reposses My Deceased Mother's Car

My mother passed away in 2007. I her daughter have been making her payments faithfully. the bank reposessed mothers car without a cobb letter is this legal. How can the bank say I forged mothers name whe she herelf agrred upon her death for me to continue to make payments?
